.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure aloft and weak offshore flow will bring warming of a
few degrees today with northeast winds gusting to 40 mph near and
below the Cajon Pass through this morning. For coastal areas,
night and morning coastal low clouds and locally dense fog will
continue through Wednesday. Onshore flow will spread cooling of a
few degrees inland on Wednesday followed by warming with weak
offshore flow on Thursday. Onshore flow and weakening high
pressure aloft will spread cooling inland for Friday through
Monday of next week, but with high temperatures remaining as much
as 10 to 15 degrees above average for some inland areas for
Saturday through Monday.

SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...

.SHORT TERM (Today through Thursday)...
Satellite imagery and surface reports show widespread low clouds
and locally dense fog extending inland in San Diego County to the
mesas and far western valleys and in Orange County inland past
Interstate 5. A Dense Fog Advisory continues for coastal areas
until 9 AM this morning. There is also weak offshore flow for
inland areas with the stronger gusts near and below the Cajon Pass
to 40 mph. High pressure aloft and weak offshore lower-level flow
will warm high temperatures today a few degrees from those on
Monday.

Weak onshore flow for Wednesday will cool high temperatures a few
degrees. Stronger high pressure aloft and weak offshore flow for
Thursday will bring warming of high temperatures of around 5
degrees for the coast and valleys with not much change for the
mountains and deserts. High temperatures on Thursday be as much as
20 degrees above average for portions of the inland valleys onto
the lower coastal slopes of the mountains. High temperatures on
Thursday will range from the lower 70s near the coast to the upper
70s to mid 80s for the valleys with the lower to mid 80s for the
lower deserts. For the coast and valleys, Thursday is expected to
be the warmest day of this week.

Through Friday, there will continue to be chances for both daytime
high temperature records to be tied of broken, mainly for the
mountains, far inland valleys, and lower deserts with a few record
warm overnight low temperatures as well.

.LONG TERM (Friday through Monday)...
Weak onshore flow and weakening high pressure aloft will spread
cooling inland for Friday through the weekend. High temperatures
on Friday will be as much as 18 to 22 degrees above average for
the high desert and lower elevations of the mountains, then cool
to 12 to 18 degrees above average for the weekend. High
temperatures for the weekend will range from the mid to upper 60s
near the coast to the 70s for the valleys with the lower deserts
in the upper 70s to mid 80s.

On Monday, high pressure aloft may strengthen slightly across
southern California as a low pressure system develops farther off
the California coast. For Monday, the warmer solutions for
southern California area those with stronger high pressure aloft
over the western states with low pressure over the eastern Pacific
slower to move toward the coast.

.AVIATION...
161030Z...Coast...Low clouds and dense fog will continue this
morning. Cigs will continue around 200-300 feet MSL, tops 800 feet,
and vis 0-2SM. Scatter out 15-17Z vcnty KSAN, 17-19Z vcnty KSNA.
Only partial or intermittent clearing at immediate coast thereafter.
Low clouds and fog to return to coastal airports 01-05Z, with
slightly higher cigs/vis and extending a little farther inland
overnight into Wednesday.

Otherwise...mostly clear skies with unrestricted vis today and
tonight.

Areas of dense fog will continue this morning. A Marine Weather
Statement contains the details. Otherwise, no additional hazardous
marine conditions are expected through Saturday.
